Maintenance under CAR Part 145

TPSC holds Category A, B and C ratings as Aircraft Maintenance Organisation 0076. Work is carried out and released to service within the scope of our approval.

Category A

Airframe maintenance

Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the aircraft types listed in our Operations Specification, with full release to service.

  • Inspections and checks to the aircraft's approved maintenance programme
  • Defect rectification and troubleshooting
  • Removal and installation of components and equipment
  • Release for test or ferry flight where required

Category B

Airframe component repair

Repair, detailed inspection, test and modification of airframe components on our SACAA-accepted Capability List (CAP01).

  • Flight control actuators and trim tab actuators
  • Flap motors, gearboxes and flap actuators
  • Landing gear actuators, retract motors and gearboxes
  • Brake units
  • Flight control balancing
  • Structural and non-structural repairs

Category C

Engine maintenance on-wing

Maintenance on engines while fitted to the aircraft, including external components, adjustments and installation.

  • Piston engine opened up for maintenance in the TPSC hangar
  • Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A series and JT15D
  • Honeywell TPE331 series
  • Continental and Lycoming piston engines
